“A Journey of Civilization” between Wuhan University and The Confucius Institute of Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 ended with a grand finale
In April and June, 2015, the French Department received a total of over twenty students from Confucius Institute of Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 to attend a two-week activity of “A Journey of Civilization” in China.
During the two-week study of Chinese language and culture, the French Department has mobilized an excellent faculty team to teach the students not only rudimentary Chinese, but also Chinese calligraphy, Tai Chi and other culture courses. Through the activity, the students have gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture as well as the ever-prospering China and its rapid economic development.
Exchanges between the students from Confucius Institute and the French Department have been conducted over a number of issues of common concern such as urbanization, cuisine and art. Their understanding of the Chinese and western values have been deepened.
The students from Confucius Institute have also participated in the activity of visiting the new rural areas of China and the world organized by the French Department. In particular, during the visit in Huangpi, these students have gained a keener perception of essence of Chinese culture as well as its status quo on economic development.
This activity received approval and appreciation from the leaders of Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 and the Directors from both sides of Confucius Institute.
