  Jin Qi is an English professor teaching English language and English Society courses at School of Foreign Languages and Literature affiliated with Wuhan University. He was born in 1985, graduated with an Mphil in East Asian Studies in the University of Cambridge in 2010 and then started his teaching career at Wuhan University ever since. In 2011, Jin Qi won the championship and the first prize at national college English teaching competition with a distinction. He was promoted to be an associated professor of English at Wuhan University at the age of 25. In 2012, he was selected and funded to offer academic speech at international English teaching summit in Philadelphia of the United States.  

Jin Qi has been working as a professional news anchor at Wuhan Media Gruop since 2016. He is hosting bilingual news programs including “Wuhan Weekly Prime News” in Chinese Madarin and “Han News ” in English. He was selected on merits to host the one-year-countdown gala of 7th World Military Sports Games in 2018. Besides, Jin Qi frequently showed up as the leading English host at various international events in Wuhan, such as the world acrobatic festival and the world tennis open.

Jin Qi also made his acting debut at a Chinese TV blockbuster of historic themes. He plays the role of China’s ex-premier Zhou Enlai’s English interpreter, Zhang Wenjin in the TV Series “Nanking Negotiation”.

Jin Qi was once an acclaimed and promising young pianist when he was at college. He won championship at 2006 “Verdi Cup” National Piano Competitions Among College Students. In 2011, Jin Qi was invited by Fenglin CD Co. to record his piano solo album “A Dream Soul of Piano in Cambridge” at China’s National Center for the Performing Arts. The CD was available at leading CD Shops across China the same year.
